Analysing Current Music Videos

Sum41- The Hell Song:
At the beginning of the video before the song started we could see a variety of dolls which looked very unusual, a light narration was given over the top of this shot which gave the audience a brief idea of what to expect. The camera work was very low to the ground and kept eye level or just above the dolls that where being used to explain the song. Sum41 are a rock band which used these props to explain how they wanted their song to come across to its listening audince, they also used the dolls to represent how they wanted women especially to come across, they made them careless and disrespectfull of their bodies and used editing to blurr out the revealling parts. I think that the weird editions to the video make it very memorable and this makes it very recognisable next to other music videos.

Tegan and Sarah- Call it Off
This video was very unique it didnt use a location, just a white background and floor, the two artists where dressed in white aswell the only colour would have been the telephoone wires being wrapped around her. The lyrics told the story well so there was no need for (a) locations or any other distraction to explain the image they wanted to get across, the camera work was very good this made the video look alot better, they used techniques which made the image unfocused at different moments.
